5 Industries that will never go out of fashion

Updated on June 4, 2013

Jobs that are too big to fail

While no company, person or organization is truly "too big to fail", there are certainly some industries that will never be deemed "useless", and they probably aren't the industries you're thinking of.

#5. Labor and Delivery

In all the world, there are only a few things we know will never cease to stop happening, and life is one of them. And while the forms and traditions for helping new beings enter their lives, there is definitely no end in sight for the labor and delivery industry.

There is no lack of demand for nurses and doula's who know how to coach birthing mothers just right, to highly experienced individuals who can help guide babies into the world. Though human and even animal birthrates rise and fall in natural cycles, there is always a need for these types of heroes.

#4. End of Life Services

Life and death go hand in hand, which is why the "death industry" will always be a hot ticket. From funeral home directors to coroners and grave diggers, there is no lack of need for professionals who specialize in end of life services.

#3. Education

Our species is so well know for our love and need of learning, that we've developed hundreds of jobs and businesses that all fit into the industry of education. And while we may debate the benefits of each form and function of education, there is definitely no end in sight for the need of education.

#2. Futurism

Whether you're looking for a forecast of the most necessary jobs in coming years ahead, or you just need some insight into your love life, there will always be a need for people who can accurately predict future outcomes.

#1. Art

While art itself consistently changes form and evolves over time, the need for art does not.

Our history as humans is littered with arts that manifested from day one. Cave art, hieroglyphics and tattoos are great examples. Clothing is another admirable art that is not likely to die out anytime soon. While we may decide that certain fashion trends are in or out, there are few who will argue that covering the body will ever be unnecessary for beings with so little natural protection for their skin (that's us!).

There are other jobs that also fall under artistry that will never go out of fashion, even in apocalypic scenarios. Things like the art of cooking, building and redesigning.
