Worth Writing For - Sites You Really Want to Get Paid to Write For

Updated on March 15, 2012

Factoidz

Next Hubpages, Factoidz is my favorite site to write for. I consistently see a good return off traffic from even the simplest of articles, and they have never stiffed me for a payment. To add even more value, like hubpages, factoidz has a forum where the community can ask questions, find writing inspiration and give answers. They also have an easy to navigate dashboard, and awesome extras like:

  • Traffic Bonuses
  • Article Assignments
  • Comparison Reports
  • Accomplishment Badges

Factoidz pays through paypal by the first of the month, and has no minimum payout level. It your feeling frisky with your facts, you should check out Factoidz.

Slice The Pie

Slice The Pie is a brand new site that I am more than glad to share with you. They are the only site I've ever found that doesn't charge you a membership fee to get paid to write music reviews. Which is awesome, because it's super easy to get into and very addictive to write for. They pay per word, and give bonuses for uber detailed reviews.

Odesk

Odesk is another favored site. If you're a writer, it's almost paradise with Odesk, as they have at least a couple hundred requests for writers every day. More if you're into technical and creative writing.

Elance

Elance is pretty much the same as Odesk, though they are a little stingier. That being said, I have yet to find any other sites that offer so many skills test that allow you to show off your experience and aptitude in various skill sets. They don't charge you to take the tests either, and the more of then you complete with a passing score, the more the job offers role in.

Elance offers a free membership to get you started, though if you're really looking to get the hot cakes flying into your wallet, you'll want to upgrade to their pro package, to be able to apply to more jobs.

Textbroker

Textbroker is a straight-forward content buying site that provides regular technical and sales content that needs to be written. Buyers will either give you specific perimeters for keywords and density, or they will just leave it up to you.

Textbroker is a bit boring though, in my opinion, though they are rarely ever out of work if you can keep up with their rising writing habits.

Bukisa

Bukisa is actually pretty old skool, at least as far as online writing sites go. They have a decent revenue share and they have recently really come up in google and bing rankings, which means more visibility for your articles.

Examiner

I'm sure you've heard of Examiner. They are an almost mainstream online new site that hires regular niche writers to fill their pages with excellent and professional quality content. They pay pretty much the best out of any other paid to write sites, if you keep your content fresh and trendy. It definitely takes a write with superb writing skills and style, as well as someone strong in SEO and current trends - to write for examiner.

If that's you, check them out.

Squidoo

Squidoo is a bit complicated for the writer who isn't used to their platform. Though for the write that takes the time to really get to known all their gadgets, widgets and writing tools, it can bring in a strong regular income, especially when combined with sites like Factoidz and Hubpages.

Orble

Orble is a blogging site that pays revenue for traffic through adsense. They don't give any writing leads, so it's anything and everything, and you can start as many orble blogs as you like. They aren't as popular with google, though I've had constant incriments with them, even when I haven't updated the blogs in a while.

Firehow

This one is relatively new, and not quite as interesting as hubpages. It's like a lite version of the way Ehow used to be. Still, it's worth checking out if you've signed up for the rest of the sites.

Yahoo! Contributors Network

Formerly Associated Content, the Yahoo Contributors Network is a great site to write for if you keep your work constant. If you start to flat line on the amount of content you produce for them, your ratings will drop pretty dramatically. Though they pay on time and you'll see regular revenue, even if it's only a meager amount. Every little bit helps, right?
